Discovering Trinidad & Cienfuegos

Streets of Trinidad, Cuba

After staying first five days in Havana, we decided to visit Trinidad and Cienfuegos. Instead of going directly to Trinidad, we wanted to visit la Finca Vigia, where Ernest Hemingway used to live, and the city of Santa Clara. In this case the best option was to hire the driver, as the bus does not make this complicated route. Our driver, Jorge, was the loveliest man. He made us the tour for very reasonable price of 180 CUC (finally we paid him 190, as he was very nice to us). First we visited La Finca Vigia (just 20 minutes away from Havana) but unfortunately it was closed for some renovations works. After we drove to Santa Clara and made a stop at Che Guevara Museum (It’s a quick stop, no need of more than half an hour to see everything). Afterwards we went to have a lunch at the famous restaurant La Casona Guevara (one of the best in Santa Clara), and then we took 3 hours to walk around the center of the city. We were quite surprised as it is very different from Havana. It’s full of young people (apparently because there are many universities). The architecture was similar, but buildings are lower. We also visited the beautiful theatre La Caridad, which is a national monument of Cuba. It was built in 19th century and it is one of the few remaining colonial theatres in Cuba. The visit costs only 1CUC and it’s totally worth it. Continue reading…

Havana, mi amor

Havana, Cuba - Paseo de Marti

Havana

I’m very excited about this post, since visiting Cuba was, probably, one of the best decision of my life. When Sebastian told me he wanted to go for two weeks, to enjoy the country and shoot some beautiful tile floors, the first thing I felt was the fear. I did not know Cuba and my opinion about the country was completely different from what is it now. I could not avoid to think about practical things. I was afraid of everything and I had my doubts if I should go or not. From today’s perspective, I can assure you, Cuba is one of the best destinations I have ever visited. First of all, it is such an unique country! You can’t find anywhere else what you’ll see in Cuba. It’s like traveling in time. The beautiful architecture, old vintage cars and music everywhere will make this experience absolutely unforgettable. I have never seen so many beautiful buildings together in my entire life. Yes, some of them are old and in bad shape, since the humidity affects them a lot, but they are still gorgeous and with a little help, they will keep being it. Cuban people are the loveliest people in the world. They love to share their thoughts and experiences with you. They are very PROUD of being who they are and this made me respect them even more. It’s a known fact Cuba has some economical problems and yes, their struggle because of imposed restrictions is real. They don’t have access to a lot of things, but Cubans are very creative to find solutions to their problems. POSITIVITY is the state of their mind and that’s how they keep theirselves happy. Highlighting their free education and health care system, which is one of the bests in the world! After my 2 weeks stay there, I came to the conclusion that it is one of the best places to live and have a calm life. As I’m not gonna be able to live there, I’ll make sure to visit it soon again. Meanwhile I leave you some tips in case you decide to travel to this beautiful country.

Ibiza – my new love

Ibiza - Cala Xarraca

Cold days are approaching, but my mind is still in summer, thinking about beautiful beaches and turquoise water. If you followed my summer on my Instagram account, you probably know that I spent several days in Ibiza and I had absolutely delightful time. Sounds tacky but it’s true.

We arrived on 14th of July, and of course, it was right in high season. One thing you should know about Ibiza: in July and August it’s very expensive. Get ready to spend quite a lot of money as there is a lot of demand for hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. Make sure you book a table for lunch and dinner in advance.

Weekend Getaway at Les Manoirs de Tourgeville

Les Manoirs de Tourgeville

Last weekend I visited Normandy for the very first time. I really wanted to explore the famous beach of Deauville with it’s beautiful colourful umbrellas and Les Planches (changing cabins, each of them with Hollywood actors’s name on it who participated in the Deauville American Cinema Festival). In the center of the city there are many interesting boutiques, so it’s very easy to spend time and money on shopping there. In general, I liked Deauville, it’s a perfect place if you like horses races and casinos. Maybe a little too much for me :).
In the evening,we decided not to stay in Deauville but rather in a small town a few minutes away from Deauville and the main reason for this, is that we found a beautiful and calm hotel in Tourgeville – Les Manoirs de Tourgeville. It is very beautiful, everything around is very green and you can really feel the spirit of Normandy.

Milan Design Week 2017 / Part 1

Milan Design Week 2017: Duomo

A few weeks ago I went to Milano to attend my first ever Milan Design Week. For those who don’t not know the concept, it’s like fashion week, but instead of clothes, brands present furniture and objects in their respective showrooms. Some of these objects easily could be  considered pieces of art. Milan Design Week is an annual event, and it’s world’s largest one of it’s kind. It’s an amazing opportunity to discover young artists and getting inspired by all the latest creations in furniture and design. Continue reading…

Hotel Boutique La Serena in Altea, Spain

La Serena Hotel - Altea,Spain
Hello babies,

As you already know, last August I made a five days road trip in the south of Valencia. Today I want to show you the hotel where I stayed the last night, and it’s probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever visited.
I discovered La Serena hotel, thanks to my friend Nuel, who is from Altea. I was planing a day trip there so I asked him if he could advise me any special place to stay, and his answer was: “stay in La Serena, pleaseee, it’s so “cuqui” (means cute in not official Spanish). So I checked the hotel and I saw it was more than just cute: it was a high designed hotel in the historical center of Altea, with a michelin star restaurant and the POOL! Which is almost impossible to imagine being in the historical center of the town. So, obviously, I immediately booked the last room they had left for that night.

Lunch and coffee hotspots in Amsterdam

Amsterdam Food Hotspots
Before I start writing about my favorite lunch and coffee places in Amsterdam, I have to say that this is gonna be a bit long post since I have spent 3 days in Amsterdam visiting really yummy hotspots and I want to share all of them with you.

First of all, I want to highlight that Amsterdam in July is absolutely amazing (in general it is always beautiful, but the sunny weather shows the best of the city). I went to walk around the canals and enjoy the views during the 3 days and it was a great experience! So, if you have a chance to visit Amsterdam during summer, don’t think two times, just do it!

Healthy lunch spots in Antwerp: WASBAR

Wasbar Antwerp
Since I’m on vacation, and I have a lot of free time, I try to visit some hot spots and I want to share them wish you.
For now, I’m in Belgium and I’m moving between Knokke, Antwerp and Brussels. In today’s post I’m gonna show you a very interesting place I discovered in the center of Antwerp. Wasbar is a bar-restaurant and a place to do the laundry: you can have a lunch, or just a drink meanwhile waiting for your laundry. You can also go just for a drink, without necessarily bringing the dirty clothes ;)) The place is full of washing machines, soaps and detergents. The design is very original and beautiful! I really loved the concept.

My experience in Amsterdam

Amsterdam
It is definitely the city of freedom and one of my favourite places I have visited so far.
Many people consider Amsterdam as the city of canals, tulips, coffeeshops and Red Light district, but the truth is that this city is much more than this: It offers a wide variety of museums, being the most important ones Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, and also countless art galleries. The architecture of the city is absolutely fascinating, mixing the beautiful small houses with 165 canals and 1.500 bridges.

Weekend at Sweet Hotel Els Arenals, Valencia

Els Arenals Hotel
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that one of my favorite beaches of Valencia is la Playa de Almardá, located in the north, 30 minutes away from the capital (by car). I usually go there to enjoy the dunes and the protected beaches of this area.
Last October, meanwhile my trip in Spain, decided to stay during the weekend at Almardá, in one of the most beautiful hotels of the area, Els Arenals. It’s a boutique hotel on the coast, located just in front of the beach. The weather was a little bit strange, changing in every half an hour, but I still had fun in the amazing outdoor pool with the chill out bar. When it was raining, I stayed in my very beautiful and huge suite, with an amazing view on the beach.
